88.84% students clear CBSE class X exam

New Delhi: Around 89 per cent of over eight lakh students on Friday cleared the Class X examination under Central Board of Secondary Education, marking an increase of more than a percentage point over that of last year.

While 89.78 per cent girls got through the test, the pass rate of boys is 88.18 per cent, the CBSE said. The overall pass rate of 88.84 marks an increase of over one per cent over the pass rate of 87.08 per cent of last year.

Students from Chennai region have fared better than other regions with a pass rate of 95.6 per cent. A total of 8,24,421 students had appeared in the test held in March.

The board had announced the results of the Ajmer, Chennai and Panchkula regions on Tuesday. The results of Delhi, Allhabad and Guwahati regions were announced on Friday.

The performance of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan and Jawahar Navoday Vidyalayas has been outstanding with 96.35 and 93.42 per cent pass rates respectively.

CBSE has made special arrangements for quick access of results by individuals and schools through the Internet.

The schools can get their entire results by giving their school code and email-id by registering themselves.

Students can also get their results on their e-mail addresses after registering themselves on www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.

Students can log on to the websites -http://mtnldelhi.in, http://bol.net.in and http://delhi.mtnl.in - for results.

The Board would also disseminate results through Interactive Voice Response System.

Over eight lakh students appeared in the test held in the month of March.
