In a small village in Chhattisgarh, a father put his daughter to bed like he did every other night - in the room next to his, with her two other siblings, a brother and sister.
A few hours later, before going to bed, the father checked as he often did on whether his children were asleep. His oldest daughter was missing.
The man and his wife combed their entire neighbourhood. The next morning, they found her injured and barely breathing in a field a few kilometres away.
The girl was rushed to hospital by the parents where doctors said she was dead.
The police have filed an FIR against unknown people.
