A Couple's Unique Protest to Seek Help for Their Missing Daughter

The couple stood for the entire day outside the police station with a poster asking for help

Hingoli: A couple from Maharashtra's Hingoli district have appealed to the police in a unique manner to help them find their daughter who went missing in July, for the second time.

On Wednesday, they stood for the entire day outside the police station with a poster asking for help. The local police have launched a search operation for the girl, Priyanka Dhule, who is 14 years old.

The police say the girl had gone missing in January too but they managed to track her down and find her following which she was reunited with her parents.

"On 1st August 2015, Raju Dhule complained that his daughter Priyanka Raju Dhule, a 13 year old, went missing. We started searching for her on a regional level and prepared a search warrant. We also used WhatsApp and Facebook to look for her. Before this too she had gone missing and was found at Shegaon. This is the second time she has left her house so we searched for her in Shegaon, Akola, Aurangabad and Vashi. We could not find any clue and we are still searching for her and we hope to find her soon," Police Inspector Jagdish Bhandarwar told NDTV.

Raju Dhule, the girl's father who suspects that his daughter could have been kidnapped or trafficked, says, "A woman named Suchita Thamble, used to come to our house to clean utensils. She used to get her son along and the day my daughter went missing, the woman too went missing. We reported this to the police after which her relatives started warning us. We just want to say that our daughter should be found and returned to us." The family suspects the role of local women in their daughter going missing.

They couple adds they have been visiting the police station regularly but their daughter has still not been traced.
