A tale of Karnataka's murky land deals

A tale of Karnataka's murky land deals
Bangalore: Karnataka's political arena is being rocked with allegations and counter allegations of murky land deals. After former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy alleged that Chief Minister Yeddyurappa got land worth crores denotified from a government housing layout so that it could be acquired by his family members, now Yeddyurappa's defenders are out to do some damage control.

Indicating that these allegations should stop because everyone is vulnerable to the same charges, Yeddyurappa's men have alleged that Kumaraswamy and his close friends were involved in a number of benami land transactions on the outskirts of Bangalore.

"In and around Bangalore and on the Hassan road they have done benami transactions of hundreds of acres - Revanna and Kumaraswamy..." said Bache Gowda the Labour Minister of Karntaka.

On asking Kumaraswamy, he outright rejected all claims and said that he was not in a position to talk. However, he did continue his tirade against the Chief Minister.

The continued slugfest has marred Karnataka politics and the after effects are heard in the BJP top notch. In an attempt to support its leader BJP loyalist and a Member of Parliament from Bangalore North , DB Chandre Gowda said "Let us stop washing the dirty linen in the public - try to reconcile ourselves. Otherwise whatever happened during his 20 months of rule - we will have to bring that to the streets as well."

It appears to be a cold war of sorts as the leaders are washing dirty linen in public.
