New Delhi: Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra today claimed that the man who threw a shoe at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, was in touch with a BJP leader before the attack.
He demanded that Ved Prakash Sharma's call records should be probed.
"Call details of Ved Prakash Sharma should be probed. He called a BJP Delhi leader right before attacking," Mr Mishra tweeted.
Sources said, after the attack Mr Sharma's phone was checked by party volunteers and Delhi government official.
When contacted, Mr Mishra declined to divulge the details of the BJP leader with whom Mr Sharma was in touch.
AAP leader Kumar Vishwas said this shows frustration of rival parties ahead of Punjab polls.
"Dear Conspirators, this #OddEven is going to grace your Aaka's (boss) a big Zero in Punjab keep on throwing your frustrations wrapped in Ink-Shoes," he said.
AAP Spokesperson Deepak Bajpai said, "We can say this with authority that the attacker was in touch with a senior BJP leader of the Delhi unit."
A shoe was hurled at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by man who claimed to be from Aam Aadmi Sena, a breakaway group of AAP, during a press conference but it did not hit the AAP chief. The attacker, identified as Ved Prakash, was detained by police, which quizzed him.
He talked about alleged irregularities in distribution of CNG stickers and claimed that no action has been taken though a complaint was filed by him with the Chief Minister.
The incident happened during a press conference at Delhi Secretariat here addressed by Kejriwal on roll out of the second phase of the Odd-Even scheme from April 15.
The shoe fell short of the Chief Minister, who had earlier been targeted with ink and was slapped by a man during campaigning for last Assembly election.
