AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal To Address Public Meetings In Goa

This will be Arvind Kejriwal's second visit to Goa in a month.

Panaji: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal will address multiple rallies in Goa, which goes to polls on February 4.

"Kejriwal will be addressing public meetings at Benaulim and Vasco on January 7 and at Mapusa and Sankhalim on January 8," AAP spokesperson Rupesh Shinkre told PTI. This would be Mr Kejriwal's second visit to the state within a month.

Mr Kejriwal had addressed a rally in Cuncolin assembly constituency on December 19, where the AAP declared former Inspector General of Prisons Elvis Gomes as their chief ministerial candidate. Mr Gomes was questioned by the state's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with an inquiry into what it calls a housing scam last month.

Yesterday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that his party had no issues with Punjab and Goa going to polls on the same day.

"We welcome this," he had said. "Now people will openly support and work for the AAP in Punjab and Goa."

"The countdown has started for the ruling parties in Punjab and Goa," he added.

Goa has 40 Assembly seats and the AAP has already declared 36 of its contestants.
