Chandigarh:
Aam Aadmi Party lawmaker from Sangrur in Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, has challenged political leaders in the state to undergo dope tests.
This is the first time Mr Mann has reacted after he was chased away by Sikh hard line groups for turning up allegedly drunk at a ceremony last month to pay respects to the protesters killed in police firing in Kotakpura, 200 km from here.
In a video message posted on his Facebook page, the AAP leader has alleged that the Shiromani Akali Dal is trying to tarnish his image through propaganda. Mr Mann challenges deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to organise dope tests for all politicians. "I will be the first one to give a blood sample. But you must also give a blood sample. It will give you, Deputy CM sahib, the chance to come clean on allegations of drugs abuse against you," he says in the video.
Mr Mann is currently touring Australia to perform in stage shows called 'Bhagwant Direct Dil Se.' He uses satire in these shows to talk about his journey from Punjab to Parliament.
