'Narendra Modi Forgot He's India's Prime Minister, Not BJP's': Kumar Vishwas to NDTV

Narendra Modi had forgotten that he was India's Prime Minister during the campaign, AAP's Kumar Vishwas has told NDTV.

New Delhi:

Aam Aadmi Party's Kumar Vishwas spoke to NDTV on his party's landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Here are the highlights:

  • When I met Arvind Kejriwal yesterday morning, he asked me how many seat I thought we would win. I said I thought we would win 45.
  • As counting progressed, our hopes soared.
  • It's a huge burden. If people can reject the man who started occupying 7 Race Course Road only nine months ago.
  • Public restlessness that defeated the BJP can also turn on us. That is why it is scary.
  • The Prime Minister, in the heat of the campaign, had forgotten that he is the Prime Minister for the entire country and not just for the BJP. People did not accept his negative comments.
  • Politics is not rocket science. They have made it a debate on caste, community etc. We have to change that discourse.
  • I admired that Modiji went to Siachen for Diwali.
  • I criticize AAP too. I have not come here to do politics.
  • I criticize Kejriwal privately, publicly whenever I need to. Kejriwal entertains (encourages) it.
  • Shanti Bhushanji is a big sympathiser of ours. He is among the co-founders and is a well-wisher.
  • We had verified if the persons who gave us cheques have legitimate PAN numbers. The timing of the Income Tax Department notice is something only the government can comment on.
  • AAP will not become part of a national front.
  • We do not have any enmity with Modiji. I am not pro-Modi. I am pro-India.
  • We were talking about the Jan Lokpal. Let any party who has a say in the Centre bring it there. Let them bring it in their respective states.
  • We ask Uddhav Thackeray to come and help us bring the Lokpal. We want to end corruption.
  • We cannot forgive what is happening in West Bengal.
  • Kiran Bedi is like my elder sister. I will apologise to her and invite her, and will be grateful if she can help with women's security and law and order.
  • We don't want security. The government should do crowd management. Then, we will not need X, Y or Z security. We have told this to the government dozens of times.
  • Even the personnel who have been placed on security duty for Arvind Kejriwal are saying it is meant to track his movements.
