Aarushi case: verdict to be delivered on Nov 25
Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, accused of murdering their daughter Aarushi and help Hemraaj in 2008
Ghaziabad: A court in Uttar Pradesh will decide on November 25 whether dentist-couple Nupur and Rajesh Talwar are guilty of murdering their young daughter Aarushi and their domestic help, Hemraj.

Aarushi, just days short of her 14th birthday, was found dead in her bedroom in the Talwars' flat in Noida near Delhi in May 2008. At first, the family's domestic help, a Nepali named Hemraj, was the main suspect.  But hours later, his body was found on the roof of the apartment building.

The CBI, which has investigated the case, has accused the Talwars of murder and destruction of evidence. Aarushi's parents say their teen daughter was killed by three domestic helpers who knew Hemraj well and often visited him at their home. The CBI arrested the trio in 2008 but then released them after declaring it had found nothing to pin the murder on them.

The agency has also said at different points in its inquiry that it does not have direct evidence to link Aarushi's parents to the double murder.

In December 2010, it asked the Ghaziabad court handling the trial for permission to close the case, and said that though it did not have evidence against Rajesh Talwar, he remained their main suspect.

The judge then ruled that the Talwars would together be tried for murder.

Both parents have been imprisoned during the investigation. Rajesh Talwar spent almost two months in jail in 2008, before he was released on grounds of lack of evidence. Nupur was arrested in April 2012 for ignoring orders to appear in court; she was released on bail in September that year.
