The hearing in the case has been adjourned for the day. Next hearing in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case is on June 21, when Chuni Lal Gautam, the Noida Police photographer who took photos of the crime scene, will be cross examined by the counsel of the Talwars.

Rajesh Kumar, an official of Noida Electricity board, also gave his statement to the court about the electricity situation on the intervening night of 15/16 May 2008 at the Talwar residence when the incident happened. He was cross examined by the counsel of the Talwars.

Constable Chunni Lal Gautam, the police photographer, told in his statement that there were some blood spots on wall next to the bed where Arushi was found dead. But there were no blood spots on the soft toys and small pillow near the dead body. CBI has claimed Mr Gautam's testimony indicates dressing up of the crime scene.

AD Saha, the fingerprint expert of Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), also gave his statement before the CBI court. CFSL has submitted 36 articles seized during investigations, which mainly includes scotch bottle, golf stick and club, pillow, part of mattress, keys and other things from Talwars house, and pillow from Hemraj's room, pillow cover from Krishna's room, T-shirt from Rajkumar's room and Arushi's mobile phone.

Rajesh Talwar, on of the accused in the case, has reached the CBI court in Ghaziabad. Nupur Talwar is yet to reach the court.

It's the first day of the trial in the Aarushi murder case at the Ghaziabad court after the Supreme Court rejected the review petition by the Talwars asking the court to quash charges against them and order a re-investigation.

On the first day of the trial, officials from the electricity board have been called to testify as witnesses. Also, forensic experts who dealt with some of the items found in the room where Aarushi was murdered.

Talwars to stand trial for Aarushi's murder, rules Supreme Court
Nupur and Rajesh Talwar will stand trial for the double murder of their only child, Aarushi, and their domestic help, Hemraj who were both found dead at their home in a Delhi suburb in May 2008. The Supreme Court has on Thursday morning rejected their appeal to dismiss their trial, ordered by a CBI court in Ghaziabad. Their trial starts tomorrow at that court.

Nupur Talwar will have to apply for a fresh plea for bail: Since the review petition has been quashed, Nupur Talwar's bail plea is rejected automatically and she will have to approach the Supreme Court against Allahabad High Court's order for bail. Nupur Talwar has been in Ghaziabad's Dasna Jail since April 30.

While passing today's verdict of dismissing the Talwar's plea, the Supreme Court today concluded that the Talwars' review petition does not hold any merit.

Nupur Talwar her and her husband Rajesh Talwar face charges of murder and destruction of evidence. Rajesh Talwar also faces the charge of misleading the court.

Talwars' trial will continue: Nupur Talwar had filed a petition asking the Supreme Court to quash the case against her and her husband Rajesh Talwar in the trial court, which has framed charges against them for murdering their daughter Arushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj in May 2008. This has been rejected today.

Aarushi murder case: Supreme Court verdict on Talwars' review petition today
A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court will give its verdict today on Nupur Talwar's review petition in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case. Mrs Talwar had filed a petition, asking the court to quash the case against her and her husband Rajesh Talwar in the trial court, which has framed charges against them for murdering their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj in May 2008.
