Patna: A first class AC coach of New Delhi-Patna Magadh Express caught fire today near Buxar station in Bihar, about 75 kilometres from Patna, but no casualty was reported, Railway sources said.
As smoke was seen coming out from the coach around 11:40 AM, the driver was alerted and the train stopped in between Gahmhar and Chausa station under Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR), Additional Divisional Railway Manager BK Singh said.
There was no report of any casualty, he said.
After the 12402 Magadh Express was stopped, five bogies including the one which caught fire were detached, and brought to Chausa station before Fire Brigade personnel doused the flame.
The cause of the fire was not yet known, he said.
DRM Danapur NK Gupta rushed to the site along with relief and engineers team.
