New Delhi: BJP leader Vijay Jolly has urged Delhi Police to act against people sending SMSes regarding spurious lottery wins to unsuspecting mobile subscribers.
"Such false, fraud and mischievous messages are sent with criminal intent to cheat innocent citizens," the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said. He demanded the arrest of those behind such messages.
One such message received by many in Delhi on Aug 14 announced a $950,000 win in the 2012 Tyoto International Mobile Draw Proma in the US.
Recipients were told to send their name and address on email to claim the money.
