Action against Maoists will continue: Shibu Soren

Ranchi: After being criticised for being soft on Naxals, Jharkhand Chief Minister, Shibu Soren has said action against Maoists will continue.

The Chief Minister is under attack for his soft stance on Maoists after his decision on prisoner swap for the release of a Block Development Officer abducted by the Maoists. (Read: Anti-Naxal plan: Chidambaram calls CMs' meet)

"There are a few people who take law in their hands. Action against Maoists will continue," Soren has said.

Meanwhile, BDO Prashant Kumar Layek, who was kidnapped and later released by the Maoists, went to meet the Soren on Saturday night.

Maoists were demanding the release of 14 of their men and women who were in various jails in Jharkhand.

The officer was in captivity for seven days when Shibu Soren intervened and agreed to release some of the prisoners.
