Shamli:
The Uttar Pradesh government today said that strict action will be taken against officers who were seen being fanned by four young boys in a video footage of a meeting in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district.
"Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is very serious towards issues pertaining to children. He will be apprised about the matter, and we will ensure strict action against such officers having feudal mindset," state minister Rajendra Chowdhury said.
The meeting was being chaired by the state's welfare secretary Sunil Kumar when he was in Shamli to review a development programme. The meeting was also attended by Shamli's District Magistrate Praveen Kumar.
In the video, four boys can be seen standing behind the officers, waving fans in a tent where the meeting was held.
Mr Chowdhury said such acts of forcing children to wave fans at officers are intolerable and also against service rules.
