Bollywood actor Armaan Kohli, who was being questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), was arrested this morning after banned drugs were allegedly recovered from his Mumbai house, said a NCB Offical.
"A small quantity of Cocaine has been seized from his (Armaan Kohli) house," said Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB's Mumbai Zonal Unit.
The investigation has revealed that the case has international linkages as the cocaine seized has South American origin, the officer added.
The NCB Mumbai is probing the route and linkages used to bring the seized cocaine to Mumbai and the involvement of other traffickers.
A team of the anti-drugs agency on Saturday had intercepted one major drug peddler, Ajay Raju Singh, who was in possession of illegal drugs.
A follow up operation was launched the same day based on the preliminary interrogation of the accused Ajay Raju Singh. According to his inputs, a team of NCB raided the house of Arman Kohli in suburban Andheri and recovered small quantity of Cocaine drug from him.
The NCB team later took the actor to its office in south Mumbai for questioning.
The actor has featured in the Salman Khan-starrer "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" among other films and was also one of the contestants of the TV reality show Bigg Boss.
A day before his arrest, the central anti-drugs agency had arrested TV actor Gaurav Dixit.
