Bangalore: The Ramnagar Court issued an arrest warrant against Lenin Kuruppan, who exposed controversial swami Nityananda's sex scandal, following a complaint filed by Tamil film actress Ranjitha. In her complaint, she claimed that the video supposedly showing her in a compromising position with Nityananda has been morphed.
In addition, a warrant has also been issued against Arathi Rao, a Nityananda devotee, who testified in the alleged sex romp case and against the swami's former advocate M Sridhar, who later turned against his client.
Image damage?
In her complaint to the court, Ranjitha alleged that Lenin hatched a conspiracy to tarnish Nityananda's image, fabricated and morphed videotapes allegedly featuring her and the swami in March last year. The morphed video was aired by a television channel and others further damaging the reputation of the godman, she alleged in the complaint.
Taking serious note on this, the court issued summons against the accused seeking their personal appearance to explain their stand. When Lenin and others did not respond to the repeated summons, the court issued a warrant directing the police to secure their presence through arrest.
