Mumbai:
Naureen Sami, singer Adnan Sami's mother, was on Thursday not allowed to board a Pakistan-bound flight, as a local court has barred her from leaving India without its permission. Naureen was stopped at the Mumbai International Airport this morning after the authorities told her that she needed Sessions Court's permission for leaving the country.
She, along with Adnan, is facing a dowry harassment case filed by the Pakistani singer's estranged wife Sabah.
The Sessions Court on May 22 had passed an order prohibiting her from travelling abroad without its permission.
"Naureen had travelled to Pakistan with her husband's dead body in June. Then she had not been stopped, so she assumed she did not need a permission this time also," said her lawyer Vibhav Krishna.
She will apply to the court for permission today, Krishna said. Naureen's visa in India would expire on November 30.
