Advani raises Egypt statement with Hillary
New Delhi:

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met Leader of the Opposition L K Advani in New Delhi on Monday where Advani raised concerns about the India-Pakistan joint statement in Egypt.

He said the joint statement has disrupted the consensus among Indian political parties that there should be no more talks until Pakistan stops terror.

He also told Hillary Clinton that the statement mentioned Baluchistan, which was unacceptable.

Earlier, Hillary met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence.

Clinton, who is on a five-day visit to India, met Singh at his office in 7 Race Course Road in New Delhi. She was accompanied by US Ambassador-designate Timothy Roemer among others.

The US Secretary of State will also meet External Affairs Minister S M Krishna during which the two sides are expected to look at ways to take the strategic ties to a new level.

A few pacts, including the End User Verification agreement in defence field, under which the US would be able to supply sensitive military equipment, are expected to be signed after the discussions.
