Mumbai:
Keeping up his attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, BJP leader L K Advani has said corruption and inflation in the country were growing as the Prime Minister did not have the last word.
"I feel if there is corruption and one of the reasons is that the Prime Minister's is not the last word," he said while addressing a big gathering.
Mr Advani took his attack on the PM further by saying that "from the start, things have moved in such a way that the buck does not stop at 7 Race Coarse Road. It stops only when 10, Janpath endorses what Race Coarse Road proposes. Things do not move ahead till 10 Janpath endorses."
The BJP said "this situation is not good. It is harmful for the nation."
Justifying his criticism against the PM, Advani said "if I have criticised the Prime Minister, the main reason is that in democracy, the Prime Minister's has to be the last word. If any board is put before him, like that before the US President, it should read 'The Buck Stops here'.. That there is nothing beyond it."
The BJP leader said since the PM did not have the last word, inflation continued to rise due to "rampant corruption" and he was unable to control it.
