Afghan President Hamid Karzai arrived in New Delhi on Thursday on a four-day visit during which he is to meet Prime Minister Mannmohan Singh and hold talks on bilateral issues, including Afghanistan's request for military hardware.
It is Karzai's 14th visit to India and his third in a year.
Karzai was received by Minister of State for Home RPN Singh.
His visit is on the invite of the Pune-based Symbiosis University where he is to give a lecture on Sunday.
The Afghan president meets the prime minister on Friday.
In Pune, he will also attend a joint Business Interaction organized by FICCI, ASSOCHAM and CII.
The Afghan president was scheduled to give the 5th Hiren Mukherjee Memorial Annual Parliamentary Lecture in the Central Hall of parliament on Friday evening, but it has been cancelled.
The topic was "Afghanistan's Experience in Constitutionalism and Democracy: Lessons We Take From India".
