Jhajjar, Haryana: A Class 12 student of Hardayal Public School in Haryana's Bahadurgarh allegedly stabbed his teacher with a sickle after being scolded for scoring low marks in maths.
The 17-year-old student allegedly hit the teacher, Ravinder, at least ten times while he was checking papers in an empty classroom and the whole incident was captured on CCTV cameras, police said.
The CCTV footage shows the student taking out an object from his bag before hitting the teacher. Ravinder tried to escape but could not.
The teacher suffered multiple injuries on his head, Additional SP (Bahadurgarh), Himanshu Garg said.
After the student scored low marks in maths, Ravinder had warned him that he would disclose his marks to his parents in a parent-teacher meeting slated for Friday.
Out of fear, the student allegedly attacked his teacher, police said.
Anuradha, principal of the school, said Ravinder was sitting in the classroom around 7 in the morning when he was attacked by the student. The student was trying to flee but teachers caught him and handed him to the police, she said.
The victim was rushed to a nearby Brahmashkti Sanjeevani Hospital, where he is fighting for his life.
Mr Garg said the police has taken the attacker and his friend into custody. "The student's friend was apprehended for supplying the weapon."
The attacker has been charged with attempted murder, he added.
