Mumbai: Musician and singers from across the globe have reacted in shock to the deadly explosions at pop star Ariana Grande's concert at Manchester Arena in the United Kingdom last night. Soon after her performance ended, two explosions occurred in the largely teenage crowd, leaving at least 22 dead and 59 injured. Many are still missing. Ariana, 23, wrote in a tweet: "Broken. From the bottom of my heart. I am so sorry. I don't have words." Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and other celebrities also posted messages of grief.
Back home in India, musicians and fans of the pop star were taken aback by the horror. Singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani, who is all set to perform in London on May 27 and Leicester on May 29 with his partner Shekhar Ravjiani, told NDTV.com, "I am leaving for my UK concert tonight. I am going to make sure I perform and send out a message to the terrorist that we won't stop and we are not scared of you. I have been to a lot of concerts in the UK and across the world, I feel the security is usually very very good but terrorists have reached world leaders in the past so this has to be tackled at another level. Yes, security should be looked into and be tightened because music lovers and fans should not suffer."
Music composer Ehsaan Noorani, who does stage shows across the world, was also shattered by the news, said, "Words fail me, when children and teenagers are killed like that. Now, security measures should be taken to next level, I feel that metal detectors we have here in India make us feel safe. Somehow in the US and Europe one can enter a mall or even a school and there are no metal detectors." When asked if this attack will hold him back from being a part of a concert in the near future, he said, "No, I am not going to stop performing and be scared of these murderers."
Singer and composer Badshah who is currently in London tweeted: "They were there for music. Shouldn't have happened."
