After Bodhgaya blasts, security increased in Jharkhand temples

Ranchi: Security has been increased at major temples in Jharkhand after a series of blasts rocked Bihar's famous Mahabodhi temple at Bodh Gaya town this morning, police said.

"The security at important temples has been beefed up. The district administration and police have been directed to keep vigil at important religious places," an officer at the police headquarters told IANS.

The temples where security has been stepped up include Deoghar's Shiva temple, Parasnath temple in Giridih, Rajrappa temple in Ramgarh and the temples dedicated to Goddess Deori, Lord Shiva and Jagannath in the state capital Ranchi.

Besides, strict vigil will be kept during the Rath Mela to be held at the Jagannath temple here July 10, police said. Thousands of people usually participate in the annual fair.
