After Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress announcing rallies in Patiala and Bathinda respectively on Dec 15, the Aam Admi Party has also decided to hold a rally on the same date.
Following a meeting of its top functionaries in Chandigarh, state unit in charge of the AAP, Sanjay Singh, announced that party will hold statewide protests against the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's government against the alleged crackdown of Punjab police on AAP workers during protest march on December 6.
Mr Singh alleged that AAP youth wing leaders were targeted by the police leaving more than a dozen of them injured as they tried to break through barriers on Chandigarh-Mohali border.
"To put its demand for ouster to scam tainted agriculture minister Tota Singh from Badal cabinet, we will now protest with all our strength to send a message across," Sanjay Singh said.
The preparations for the rally the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal in Patiala is going on in full swing.
The party's president Sukhbir Badal had announced the move to hold a rally on the home turf of newly appointed state congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh.
The Congress is finding it difficult to arrange buses to ferry its workers to Bathinda for the induction rally of its new state unit team as most have been already hired by the SAD.
Congress leaders assigned for transportation job have turned to neighbouring Haryana and Rajasthan for buses.
