New Delhi: After mocking Rahul Gandhi in a tweet for his comments on the RSS defamation case, All India Radio (AIR) deleted the post on Thursday. The Congress criticised the state-run radio's tweet as 'unpardonable' and 'shameful'.
In a series of tweets, party chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewela targeted AIR and also questioned Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
Hours later, All India Radio deleted the tweet.
Mr Gandhi withdrew his appeal to cancel the defamation case and said he would face trial against the Bombay High Court verdict refusing to quash the defamation case and summons issued to him by the trial court in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district.
"I stand by each and every word. I will never take my words back... I am ready to go to trial," said Mr Gandhi had told judges through his lawyer, former union minister Kapil Sibal.
Earlier, in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court a few days ago, the Congress vice president had said he had not blamed RSS as an institution for Mahatma Gandhi's assassination.
