Chief Minister Mukul Sangma distributes tablet PCs to students
Tura:
Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma today distributed tablet PCs to 2,000 Class 12 students absolutely free of cost in the West Garo Hills district under a government scheme to aid digital learning.
Last year, around 25,000 tablet PCs were distributed to Class 12 students across the state.
These computers come pre-loaded with study material for the students and also carry sample papers for medical and engineering entrance examinations.
These computers are said to be equipped with Wi-Fi.
It seems that Mr Sangma has taken a leaf out of his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Akhilesh Yadav's notebook.
The UP Chief Minister has since March this year implemented a popular scheme where Class 12 students are given laptops free of cost.
