Tripura police patrolling the area where a BSF jawan and a civilian were killed
Agartala:
Tripura's capital Agartala is tense after a Border Security Force or BSF jawan and a civilian were killed allegedly in a clash near the international border on Friday night. The BSF chief is likely to visit the area today.
The BSF says the jawan was lynched by a group of villagers after he warned them not to go near the border and fired in the air to deter them. The mob, the BSF claims, also tried snatch the weapon of the jawan.
But the villagers allege that the jawan was drunk and opened fire on them after an altercation.
The Tripura police have been patrolling the area since last night.
