"Also there is a need of research in this sector. So AIIMS has proposed setting up of a National Cardiovascular Centre at Jhajjar (Haryana) campus of AIIMS in collaboration with the Haryana government.

"The proposal was already put up before the Union Health Ministry which is quite positive about it. The cost of the project is estimated to be about Rs 3,100 crore," Dr Neerja Bhatla, chairperson of media and protocol cell, AIIMS, said.

The proposal was put up by AIIMS Director MC Mishra on Tuesday before Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during his vist to AIIMS.

The Minister also assured that he will help in getting the environmental clearances," said Dr Bhatla.

Dr GK Rath, Head of National Cancer Institute-India and former head of Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (AIIMS) and Dr Balram Airan, chief of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) were also present during the meeting.
