Air India denies reports of strike by pilots

New Delhi: In a statement issued today, Air India has denied reports of a strike by its pilots. The airline also rejected reports that over 100 Air India pilots have threatened to quit, charging the management with adopting discriminatory attitude against them and stalling their career progression.

"A section of the press has reported that Air India pilots have given a call for strike while some pilots have reported sick, and that flights have been cancelled due to reasons of pilot's agitation. It is also rumoured that a number of pilots have written to the Air India management asking for NOC to leave their jobs. Air India would like to clarify that there is no strike call given by any section of employee of Air India and there is no agitation by the pilots of the airlines," the national-carrier's statement read.

The airline also clarified that the flight delays caused on October 31 were due to due cabin crew shortage and that the matter has been resolved now.
