Air India flight makes emergency landing in Nagpur

Nagpur: A Chennai-bound Air India flight from Delhi with 111 passengers and six crew members on board landed under emergency conditions in Nagpur on Tuesday, following hydraulic leak.

"Delhi-Chennai flight IC 540 took off as per schedule at 8 pm from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi but was diverted to Nagpur and had to land after a hydraulic leak was detected by the pilot," an airline official said.

The aircraft Airbus 320 landed safely at Nagpur airport around 10 pm. Engineers inspected the plane and the airline is making arrangements to ferry the passengers to their destination. "We are ensuring that the passengers reach to their destination tonight itself," the spokesperson added.

The aircraft is parked at the parking bay of the Nagpur airport and a relief aircraft to take the passengers to Chennai will be sent there from Mumbai.
