Lucknow: An Air India Airbus carrying 169 passengers en route to Bhubaneshwar from Delhi made a precautionary landing at a closed airfield in Lucknow today after the pilot noticed a crack in the windshield. All passengers are safe.
Airport Director S C Hota told the Press Trust of India that AI-873 Airbus 321 was on its way to Bhubaneshwar when the pilot noticed a crack in the windshield on the rear side of the nose. The pilot came in contact with the air traffic control at Lucknow at 11.54 AM when it was near Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh and sought permission for landing at the airport, Mr Hota said.
Emergency services were kept on standby, however, the aircraft landed safely at 12.37 PM.
