Air India to operate all flights from Terminal-3

Air India to operate all flights from Terminal-3
New Delhi: India's national carrier, Air India, has said that it is going to operate all its flights from Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi.

In a press release, the airline said, "All Air India (AI and IC Coded) domestic and international flights into and out of Delhi (departures and arrivals) will operate from the new Terminal-3 (T3) with effect from the midnight of November 10, 2010." (Read: The official statement)

"All Air India passengers are advised to report to Terminal-3 for their departures from the midnight of November 10, 2010. All Air India flights arriving into Delhi will also be arriving at Terminal-3," the release added.

The statement came after complaints from angry passengers about huge baggage delays, and of a shortage of Air India employees to help them out. Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel decided to inspect the problem area this evening.

Air India - like other domestic airlines - is transitioning to operating all its flights out of the new terminal by November 14.

Currently, about 11 domestic Air India flights are being handled out of T3. The others are still using the old domestic terminal.
