New Delhi: Passengers of the the Aisbagh-Gonda passenger train faced anxious moments when six of its coaches got detached at the outer signal of Bankeyganj railway station in Lakhimpur Kheri (Uttar Pradesh) and the engine chugged forward, railway officials said.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The coupling connecting the bogies with the engine broke down, leading to the incident. The train was later brought to the Mailani junction for repair and safety check up, they said.
Public Relation Officer at Lucknow Divisional Railway Manager's office Alok Kumar Srivastava confirmed the incident. He said there is no damage to the train or any injury to the passengers.
Owing to this, the traffic between Bankeyganj and Mailani railway stations was disturbed for over an hour, the PRO added.
