Ajmer blast probe: Car used to ferry explosives found

Jaipur: Rajasthan's Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) has reported making very major inroads into its investigations into the Ajmer blasts of 2007, recovering the vehicle that may have been used to transport the explosives.

The car is a crucial link in the blast that shook the Ajmer Dargah. It's in this vehicle that Sunil Joshi, the RSS leader believed to be a kingpin behind the blast, allegedly transported the bombs from Indore to Ajmer.

Anand Raj Kataria, one of the accused in Sunil Joshi's murder, has now been arrested by Dewas police and has reportedly confessed that he was the one who drove the car form Dewas to Ajmer carrying explosives that were used in the blast that killed three people.

Similar confessions have also been made by Harshad Solanki - the third man who travelled in the car. Solanki, who belongs to Godhra in Gujarat, was arrested by the Rajasthan ATS in early November.

Curiously, Sunil Joshi the RSS Pracharak was shot dead just two months after the Ajmer blast. The case was shut by the Madhya Pradesh Police for lack of evidence.

But Harshad Solanki's arrest changed all that, and his interrogation now is helping to establish critical links.

Sunil Joshi, who is close to Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, was allegedly the man who trained and established the terror network involved in the Ajmer blast.

Harshad Solanki has also reportedly confessed to killing Sunil Joshi as he allegedly had started ill-treating Solanki and others in the nexus.

Solanki also spilled the beans on Anand Raj Kataria, a small time trader form Indore who is the car's owner and was Joshi's business partner. He allegedly even helped Harshad to dispose of Sunil Joshi.

Sources say Joshi wanted to turn approver and this could have given away a lot secrets of right wing extremism. Investigative agencies are probing whether the same car was also used for ferrying explosives used in the Mecca blast.
