Ajmer Dargah blast case: Rajasthan Home Minister hints more arrests likely

Jaipur: Rajasthan Home Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal has hinted that there could be a few more arrests in the Ajmer Dargah blast case and disclosure of a few more big names in the coming days.

He, however, denied that the investigations in the case were being influenced.

Responding to the allegations against politicisation of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), he mentioned that the agency was functioning strictly on the basis of clues and information, which has come out during the course of investigation.

Dhariwal said that all proofs and records related to the case had been produced before the court and there was no question of the probe being influenced. "No one named in the probe would openly accept his involvement in the case," said Dhariwal. He also expressed satisfaction over law and order situation in the state.

Significantly, last week senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar had sent a legal notice to Dhariwal for his remarks against Kumar in the Ajmer dargah blast case. The notice, sent through his lawyer, stated that Dhariwal had misstated the facts about Kumar and was influencing the probe.

Meanwhile, an ATS team from Ajmer was sent to Hyderabad to seek the custody of Asimanand in connection with the Ajmer blast case. Asimanand was recently arrested by the CBI in connection with blasts at religious places. As per the investigating officials, Asimanand was the main plotter of these blasts and RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi, who is the alleged mastermind of Ajmer blast, was his close associate.

The ATS is hopeful of making a breakthrough in the murder probe by questioning Asimanand and a few other accused.
