Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta got married in a grand ceremony in Mumbai.
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, whose wedding in Mumbai was the most-talked-about over the weekend, exchanged vows in a glittering ceremony that looked straight out of a Bollywood set.The 28-year-olds, who studied together at the school run by the Ambani family, promised to respect and cherish each other.
"We will respect, cherish each other. Feelings and fulfill the responsibilities of married life with honour," Akash Ambani, son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, read out.
"In happiness and sorrow, we shall conduct ourselves with dignity. In sickness and health, we shall be together," Ms Mehta said.
"With body, mind and soul, we shall be faithful to each other," Mr Ambani said.
Shloka Mehta's mother Mona was seen having an emotional moment as the bride was being brought to the stage on a palanquin.
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta went to the same school in Mumbai.
The couple also vowed to have "equal status and authority in every moment" of their lives". They also promised to take care of their home and family.
The wedding - that saw global celebrities, company executives, politicians and sports personalities - took place at newly constructed Jio World Centre in the Bandra Kurla Complex.
A host of A-listers - Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan - were seated in the front row. Each guest was given holy water to sprinkle on the couple while the wedding rituals were going on.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali Tendulkar, musician Anu Malik, Rekha, Akhsya Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra were among the other celebrities on the guest list.
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta got engaged last year.
Celebrations began in Mumbai on Friday, with feasts, singing and dancing, and other pre-wedding rituals, for the wedding. Guests were served an elaborate spread with world cuisines.
The baaraat or the wedding procession saw Bollywood stars shaking a leg along with the groom and his mother Nita Ambani. Nita Ambani also performed a dance to lord Krishna's devotional song "Achyutam Keshavam".
American pop-rock band Maroon 5 performed at the post-wedding celebrations.
Anant Ambani's wedding is the second in the Ambani family after the December wedding of his twin sister Isha to Anand Piramal.
