A senior leader from the Samajwadi Party's youth wing has been arrested after he attacked a toll booth attendant.
Suresh Yadav was furious after his car was stopped last night and he was asked to pay Rs 100 at a toll booth plaza.
Footage from security cameras shows the politician and his supporters thrashing the toll booth worker who tried to stop them.
This comes days after Samajwadi Party workers were caught on camera assaulting a toll plaza attendant on the Lucknow-Faizabad national highway when asked to pay the toll fee. The footage showed the men, armed with guns, storming inside the toll control room and slapping the attendant repeatedly and hitting him with the butt of their gun before driving off in their Toyota Fortuner SUV.
The ruling Samajwadi party has been repeatedly accused of failing to control lawlessness by its own workers.
