Akhilesh Yadav Directs Departments to Adopt E-Payment System

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday directed to make government transactions paperless and said departments that were making payments through cheques should adopt e-payment system.

A government spokesman said that on the directive of the CM, the finance department has started working in this direction.

All departments have been asked to consider doing away with cheque payment system and provide their clear proposals to the finance department, the official said.

The spokesman said that food and civil supplies department had already submitted its proposal.
