Lucknow: The BJP today asked the Akhilesh Yadav-led government in Uttar Pradesh to do a "reality check" of its tall claims in the name of development.

Claiming that the planning board meetings in various districts have not taken place in the last many months, BJP leader Vijay Bahadur Pathak told IANS that Mr Yadav was fooling people of the state by his false claims of development.

"There has been no meeting of the district planning councils in Muzaffarnagar and Ghaziabad and at many places for the past six months or more.

"If this is the case in high-profile districts like Ghaziabad, which is a part of the NCR -- National Capital Region, one can make out the condition the rest of the districts," he said.

The BJP leader also cited statistics on how funds to various departments, allocated in the budget over the last three years, were not spent.
