Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav today launched "Samajwadi Sugandh (the fragrance of socialism)" - a pack of four perfume bottles - to mark his government's four years in office.
"Each bottle of perfume captures the fragrance of four different cities -- Agra, Lucknow, Benares and Kannauj," Mr Yadav said. "Music was always a part of Socialism, now it has got fragrance," he added.
The Samajwadi Party leader said, "Our government is most democratic and liberal in which people are free to raise their voice and air their problems. I want everyone to compare my work with other governments. Due to our developmental agenda, Opposition parties in the state are either out of network of offline."
He launched several schemes on the occasion, including projects for construction of power sub-stations across the state worth over Rs 3,712 crores.
Claiming that a lot of work was done for improving the power scenario in the state, Mr Yadav said, "Had previous governments done a good job, I would have ensured 24 hours power supply in the state."
"If I get the blessing of the people again, I will make electricity available 24 hours a day in the state," he added.
