Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed officials to make his office paperless, saying it will help bring transparency and will also help in faster decision making.
"With a view to make disposal of letters to his offices quicker, the Chief Minister has directed officials to make his office paperless," an official statement in Lucknow said.
The decision will also make senior officials' supervision easier, the statement said, adding that for achieving the goal, officers and employees posted in the Chief Minister's office will be given training in computers.
The system will eventually be extended to all other offices, specially the secretariat, it said, adding that large expenses incurred on the upkeep of files and paper will be saved and it will also help in maintaining the environment better.
