Coimbatore : An alleged Maoist, wanted in several murder cases including the Silda massacre, was arrested in Coimbatore in the early hours today, police said.
A police team from West Bengal, with the assistance of 'Q' Branch of Tamil Nadu police, reached Coimbatore last evening after tracing the location of the cellphone number of Shyam Charan Tudu and arrested him from a house at Peelamedu, they said.
Tudu was working in a foundry for the last four months with some alleged Maoists, police said, adding that he would be taken to West Bengal later in the day.
