New Delhi:
A person accused of transporting the Pakistani terrorists in Kashmir who attacked a Border Security Force convoy in Udhampur killing two and injuring 11, was today brought to Delhi for further questioning. The National Investigation Agency handling the case will seek court's permission to conduct a polygraph test on the accused for a scientific analysis of his statements.
Showkat Ahmed Bhat, 36, said to be a resident of Pulwama in south Kashmir, was placed under arrest on September 1 by the anti-terror agency in the investigations that followed the attack. He will be produced before a court tomorrow.
Ahmed, allegedly a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative, was arrested by the NIA and placed in the custody of Jammu and Kashmir police in the investigations that followed the attack was booked under sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act.
NIA said Ahmed was allegedly involved in transporting a group of four Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Baramulla district soon after they infiltrated into India through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
The anti-terror agency had also arrested another person named Khursheed Ahmed, who allegedly ferried the terrorists to Jammu on two occasions.
