Shimla: Himachal Pradesh High Court has issued suo motu notice to the four accused, who have been granted bail in the Aman Kachroo ragging case.
On Saturday, a fast track court granted bail to Navin Verma, Abhinav Verma, Ajay Verma and Mukul Sharma, all charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The judge said as statements of all witnesses had been recorded and evidence collected there was no need to keep them in custody.
The 19-year-old student died in March last year after the four seniors beat him up in his hostel at a medical college in Himachal Pradesh. The public rage and media focus after Aman's death had led to the principal of the college being sacked, and ragging being made a punishable offence in Himachal Pradesh.
