Mumbai: Tension is mounting within the Samajwadi Party (SP). After Amar Singh quit the party, its general secretary Sanjay Dutt also resigned on Saturday.
Bhojpuri star Manoj Tewari has also said he will quit if Amar Singh doesn't go back to the party.
Addressing the media in Mumbai after his resignation, the actor-turned-politician said that he is disappointed at the behaviour of some party members.
At the press conference, Dutt clearly declared that he "will remain with SP only as long as Amar Singh is in the party". He described Amar Singh as his elder brother.
"If Amar Singh tells me to quit politics, I will," he added.
Amar Singh, however, has refused to budge despite Mulayam's pacificatory moves.
