India is sending a team of intelligence officials to question theAmerican who was allegedly planning Mumbai-like terror attacks incities across India.
David Coleman Headley was arrested by theFBI in Chicago on October 3, for planning attacks against India andDenmark. Indian intelligence officials want exclusive access to him inAmerica, instead of joint questioning with the FBI.
Sourcesreveal that the Indian Government has been informed that Headley's plotwas bigger what the FBI has revealed so far. India is also worried byinformation that Headley's handler was Pakistan-based terrorist IlyasKashmiri.
The FBI says that Headley, an American citizen, wasallegedly working with top Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives, based inPakistan. Born American, he lived and attended school in Pakistan underthe name Dawood Gilani.
The agency also claims that Headley mentioned a prominent Indian actor identified only as 'Rahul' as the main target. Indian authorities say they have no clue who this Rahul could be.
Headleyand a Pakistani-Canadian, Tahawwur Hussain Rana , were planning toattack the offices of the Danish newspaper that published cartoons ofProphet Mohammed ; also on their target list, cities in India.
TheFBI affidavit says Headley visited India to plan the attack on behalfof the LeT. He was also in close contact over email with Ilyas Kashmiriand several unidentified leaders of LeT, two of whom are identified as"LeT member A" and "LeT member B."
