Mathura: Two days after a clash between the alleged supporters of Congress MP Sanjay Singh's son Anant Vikram Singh and police, the Congress leader's daughter Shaivya Singh yesterday requested the Uttar Pradesh government to provide security to her mother and family members.
A police constable was killed and six persons were injured in the clash.
"If some untoward incidents take place to her mother Garima Singh, brother Anant Vikram Singh, Bhabhi and supporters, then Amita Modi (Sanjay Singh's second wife) would be held responsible for it," Shaivya Singh told reporters in Mathura.
Shaivya is daughter-in-law of Indrajit Singh of Avagarh House and wed to Parakram Singh, nephew of former MP Manvendra Singh.
She alleged that police was committing atrocities on the residents of Rampur's nearby villages Katra, Ram Nagar, Pandit Ka Purva and Durga Passi Ka purva.
"Some five thousand residents of the adjacent area has fled owing to atrocity of police," she claimed quoting her sister Mahima Singh who informed her on phone yesterday.
An FIR has been registered against 257 people, including Anant Vikram Singh, on Monday in connection with the killing of the constable in the clash.
