New Delhi: The Core Committee of Team Anna will meet in New Delhi on Saturday, during which members are expected to discuss a slate of controversies including Prashant Bhushan's future, and the claims of financial mismanagement that have surrounded Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi.
It is not clear yet whether Anna Hazare will attend the meeting as he is on a "maun vrat" or 'vow of silence."
The meeting also comes days after the resignations of prominent activists Rajinder Singh and P V Rajagopal, who said they were not comfortable with the political agenda that Team Anna adopted by campaigning against the Congress in the recent election in Hisar in Haryana.
Mr Bhushan was beaten up at his Supreme Court chambers earlier this month for suggesting that a referendum is necessary to decide the political future of Kashmir. While Anna condemned the attack against Mr Bhushan, he said his team does not subscribe to the lawyer's views.
Ms Bedi has accepted that as a guest speaker for firms and organisations, she billed her hosts for business class tickets while flying economy - she says the difference was credited to the NGO she heads, India Vision Foundation. Her NGO has said it supports her and has said the money that was saved on her tickets will be refunded to those who paid for them.
Activist Swami Agnivesh has alleged that Mr Kejriwal diverted 80 lakhs worth of donations from the anti-corruption movement fronted by Anna to another trust.
In a blog posted last night, Anna defended both Mr Kejriwal and Ms Bedi and said that a "gang of four" within the government is focusing on the "character assassination" of activists who are fighting to combat corruption.
