Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government today sought a detailed report from the Sathya Sai Central Trust about its activities, including financial, in the wake of seizure of cash from the abode of the late spiritual leader.
Police have questioned two members of the Trust, R J Ratnakar and V Srinivasan, as part of the investigations into the cash seizure case.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who had held an emergency meeting with ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah, N Raghuveera Reddy, S Sailajanath and Chief Secretary S V Prasad last week, has decided to seek a report from the Trust following allegations of diversion of funds from Prasanthi Nilayam.
Political parties in the state, including ruling Congress, have been demanding that the government immediately interfere in the Trust's functioning.
Accordingly, the government today sent a letter to the Trust seeking a detailed report about its activities, official sources said.
The government also sought detailed information about individual Trust members and their role in its activities, the sources added.
