Anna Hazare to launch fresh agitation for Jan Lokpal bill from October
Bhopal: Social activist Anna Hazare today said that he will launch a fresh agitation for Jan Lokpal bill from Delhi's Ramlila ground in October-November.

"For effectively checking corruption, the government will have to pass the Jan Lokpal Act, and for that I am not afraid of even giving up my life....We will relaunch the agitation from October-November at Ramlila maidan," said Mr Hazare, who is touring the country after the formation of Jantantra Morcha.

The septuagenarian wanted to create awareness before launching a fresh anti-graft agitation, he said.

The government deceived his agitation several times, and the people would give it a fitting reply, Mr Hazare said.

He said the current election system was against the spirit of the Constitution, and claimed that the it does not say that polls should be contested through parties.

There should be a direct election for the posts of the President and the Prime Minister, Mr Hazare said.

Mr Hazare also said that Jantantra Morcha will not support any political party or person, not even his former associate Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in the elections.

He welcomed the Supreme Court's ruling which held that people's representatives would be disqualified upon conviction itself, and said that there should be fast-track courts to deal with criminal cases involving law-makers.

Answering a question as to who, between Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi, would make a better Prime Minister, Mr Hazare said if both of them cared about the nation's interest, they would have got Jan Lokapal bill passed.

To a query about former Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Raghavji, arrested in a sodomy case, Mr Hazare said that people working in the public life should know that people follow them, and therefore they should control their desires.
